Yes, one of the most important elements of nearly all games is the map on which the player uses to travel. So, I'm looking for a couple competent people to assist in making our map. Due to the fact that our world map has yet to be finalized, I'll just be looking for examples of your work in your application. Since I have yet to upload my video tutorial, I'm going to ask you not apply until you've seen the video and downloaded the tilesets I have. Anyway, your application should include: -How often you frequent this site, and how often you are available to contact through email or messengers. -An example of 3 maps you made in sphere, with a limit of 30x30 tiles. I suggest not going overboard with stuff, but the more creative you are, the more likely I'll come to you for maps of important areas. You all may post in this thread if you are interested, and then edit the post when you can apply. Watch this video I made to learn how to use SPHERE and make maps! It is a compressed .rar file, so unzip it and then watch it. Afterwards, practice and make your own map thread in the Mapping Development board ^_^ Once you've got some good work, post your application

yo. I'm probably a bit rusty, seeing as I haven't used Sphere since June, but I'm sure I can come up with some stuff for you. So, chalk me up as interested, boss!
EDIT: I already have a topographer badge, so I'd better do this!

I've already seen some of your work. Open up a thread in Visuals>Maps and post up some new maps, just practice maps, so we can see how you're doing skill wise.

when are you likely to post these tilesets? I can't really do anything without them, because I lost everything when my computer fucked up and I am completely useless at finding anything not porn-related on google....

Is there a way to select more then one tile to paste? arg... this seems so much more long and tedious then the RPG Maker XP map maker.

I can't create a thread in mapping... do you want to either:
a) give me back my powers to go with my moderator badge
b) create a thread for me

note to the topographers. all maps i made so far have atleast 4 layers. base layer, walking layer, other char walking layer, and then the overlayer.

note to the topographers. all maps i made so far have atleast 4 layers. base layer, walking layer, other char walking layer, and then the overlayer. so this means that our maps only need a base layer and an overlayer, as the other two would be empty apart from the programming, yes? I mean, I can put two blank layers in the middle if you want, and I assume that pick-upable items would have to go in one of those layers, but this all sounds too much like programming to me....

I'm still trying to get my sister to let me use her camera to make a movie guide. just download hypercam. i got a key running around i think if u cant find your own. note to the topographers. all maps i made so far have atleast 4 layers. base layer, walking layer, other char walking layer, and then the overlayer. so this means that our maps only need a base layer and an overlayer, as the other two would be empty apart from the programming, yes? I mean, I can put two blank layers in the middle if you want, and I assume that pick-upable items would have to go in one of those layers, but this all sounds too much like programming to me.... items go on the same walking layer or else its ganna be a pain to grab em (since their floating above you). the only empty lair is the other char walking layer, then the top top is the stuff for like treetops and the back of buildings and stuff like that. ^_^ and if u needa make any more layers go ahead. no worries

okay, I've made the maps but I don't know how to make them for you to see. Should I,
a) use printscreen and paste sections together and save it. b) upload the .rpm file to some host. (I don't know which one.) c) use some other form of hosting it.

you can right click on any layer, then you get this: pretty self-explanatory!

I'll help. I make great maps for my rom hacks anyway. I know what to expect in a map. I want to work on sea or grassland maps.
