My obligatory SSBM thread.
Okay. I play SSBM. I play it much more than I'm proud to admit. I know adv shit like wavedash and play casual tournaments with a few locals so idiots who go "OMG ROY'S CHARGE FLAME SWORD OF DEATH KICKS ASS USE IT SPAM IT OMG ORGASM ROY FOR TIER 1" will be ignored or ridiculed (more likely the latter).
Okay. Up until now, some dick has been challenging me with his Fox (he mains Fox) and I've been continuously kicking his ass with my main, Rambopuff (for those who cannot figure it out, it's Jigglypuff).
His older brother is another story. He plays Marth.
Now, while I can get a few KOs off Rest combos now and then on the Marth, I'm finding my win rate against said Marth deteriorating very rapidly. The issue is not a skill thing; we've played and I can attest that we're both about even. The difference is that I've had practice against a decent Marth (my little brother; admittedly he's a bit to fond of the dashdance than he should be but w/e) whereas he hasn't played Jiggs until he started playing me and he's figuring out how to counter my Jiggs.
Now, my dilhemma is this. There is a casual tourney coming up with a decent money prize (iirc it's like $50 or something because we've got a bunch of rich punks entering too) and I'm stumped. Should I play as Jigglypuff (I've played some of these punks and while they're not bad, they're decidedly average and a few are too fond of low tier fuckers like Y. Link and Ness) and have a very strong assumption that I will face the Marth. The last time we did a friendly, I left with ten wins and he had eight. We're ridiculously close. The tournament allows one character per person. So... should I risk it and use my main Jigglypuff or use my secondary (Shiek, who supposedly has a good matchup vs Marth) and weaken my overall playing in favour of a better Marth matchup or just stick to Jiggs and pray he hasn't read up on how to counter me?
