Bug's weakness to Rock.
Needed or not? I don't think it is, Bug has enough to worry about. The fact that bugs live under rocks in real life also doesn't really compute well with me. Sure, you can drop a rock on a bug and kill it, but you could also Karate Chop a bug and kill it, and Fighting is resisted by Bug.
I say we give bugs a break.

I came up with these new Pokemon concept ideas when I got bored in Sunday School (don't we all?). May The Lord Forgiveth thyself. I don't like Sunday School.

Nice attack effects. That looks like a funky alien Pokemon on the bottom. : )

I have no idea what they are supposed to be, I just drew them. I like the ghost one I made, especially his hands! I've posted them here so we can discuss them and come up with new ideas. EDIT: I made sprite(s) for my ghost pokemon. Which one do you like the most? If you just want to see one of them seperately, just ask and I'll gladly post it up here. Or if you have an idea for this unnamed Pokemon, just tell me.

Actually I thought about this ghost pokemon last night in bed and I think his name should be Spectre, which was Haunter's original name. Should I just give this guy his own thread or keep it in here?

Well it depends, do you have an idea of what you want his stats and movepool to be? Typing?
To tell you the truth, Ihad an Idea for a ghost not too long ago... Ground/Ghost Zombie... He looks like.... well... hard to describe, but I'll but it this way, he's a two stager able to learn bone rush and bone club.... not bonemerang though... as well as learning some slashing attacks... and I have no idea what egg group he would be in... Oh and he has a reallly exaggerated dropped jaw...
I'll put a picture of them up tonight when I get home :/

Iirc, there was once an idea of making Marowak Ground/Ghost and I think that now that we have the alpha/beta species thing going on, it would work wonders.

Ooooooh! Snak just came up with great idea! We have the game and Pokemon change with seasons, we shall. For instance, in the spring and summertime you find Oddishes with green leaves, but, in the fall you find: and in the winter, Oddishes either won't appear at all or they are rarely found and you would find one without any leaves at all. That's just using Oddish as an example. Think of le possibilities! Surprise! You guys are sooooo lucky! You get to be some of the first people on Earth to get to see this: www.freewebs.com/otterlord36/POKESURPRISE.jpg Guess who it is. I enjoyed making it. Please don't let this drive you away from replying about my seasons idea. That was the main idea of this post. you can comment on the link as well, but don't forget my seasons idea!

I'm not sure if we'd be doing seasons. Maybe the game clock can check the date as well, and we may have different Pokemon depending on the month, but that is really pushing it =\
For now, I'm not into "seasons". Its too asthetic to really worry about. I want the basic programming and Pokemon building done first =\

date is easy to do. same system as the clock (i think its actually included but im loving this idea and i think we should prolly go for it. we can make more snowstorms and stuff during the winter or more rain during summer or something liek that. ^_^ that would rock!!!!!

Okay, so if we do "seasons", this is how I'd want to set it up: -Similar to breaking down the times of the day into sections (morning, day, afternoon, evening, midnight), we'd divide the year into the twelve months instead of the seaons, and apply a "season" to each month. -The "seasons" would go, as follows: Northern Hemisphere - -Spring: March, April, May
- -Summer: June, July, August
- -Fall: September, October, November
- -Winter: December, January, February
Southern Hemisphere would just switch NH's Fall with Spring, and NH's Summer with Winter. -Each "season" increases the likelihood of a weather modifier, which effects the appearance rating of certain Pokemon (those Pokemon who have a dependency on weather). What I dislike about the seasons is that it severely limits the availablity of certain Pokemon, and players will get discouraged when they realize that a certain monster will only be available in certain dates. I'm gonna say no on seasons.

well im not sure bout having winter in feb but we're prolly ganna have different states. like in the first month of the season it sorta starts off, during the second its stronger, and during the last month it starts dying out (back like the first month). i'm wondering bout the tilesets for fall and winter though. i know we have a feature in sphere that can replace tilesets on maps so we'd just need to make 3 exact tilesets that look slightly differ (snowy, normal, fall). edit: crap i just saw khold's desicion. >_< okie no seasons. but is there some other monthly thing we can do to the game? (besides eclipse? lol)

if we're doing a calendar system, i dont think it'd be a bad idea to incorporate holidays. A few things i had in mind:
Xmas/Chanuuka: Delibird swarm, free items, etc Halloween: Swarm of dark & ghost type pokes, wild pokes holding rare candy Friday 13th: same as Halloween, minus the candy
Also another idea I had in mind: genetic engineering. Basically take a poke to an NPC and have a DNA sample taken from it, which basically tells you the pokemon's IVs, gender value, species value, etc. These values can be isolated and injected into a pokemon egg either altogether or separate, with a small chance of the egg failing and not hatching anything each time this is done. Essentially a way to actually set your IVs and Hidden Power types and/or clone existing Pokemon you have.

I really like the Genetic Engineering idea, but IMO, it should cost a ton of money... and be done at some Pokemon lab...
Oh wait... isn't this like... kind of back in time though >_<

The Most Overly Complicated Idea Ever
A change to Bounce:
Bounce should do more damage according to weight, going by the same formula that Low Kick has (can't find it :/) It should also have an aftershock effect, which doesn't affect Levitaters or Flying Types, that does damage on the turn after the attack is used... This would also be dependent on weight, the heaviest doing an after shock with 75 damage (Nuetral to everything but flyers, Physical attack) the lightest doing 25...
Go go Wailord!

okay so i take it yeah we ARE ganna include height/weight in the game? lol okie....... lol *adds height/weight variables* but i WILL need someone to help find me that formula. if we're doing a calendar system, i dont think it'd be a bad idea to incorporate holidays. A few things i had in mind: Xmas/Chanuuka: Delibird swarm, free items, etc Halloween: Swarm of dark & ghost type pokes, wild pokes holding rare candy Friday 13th: same as Halloween, minus the candy Also another idea I had in mind: genetic engineering. Essentially a way to actually set your IVs and Hidden Power types and/or clone existing Pokemon you have. ooooh man!! i think this idea is uber sexy!!! YES!!!! I could Definatly add this easily into the wild pokemon system!!! ^_^ yitideee!!! and maybe we could make it snow more often during xmas time (i know u said no seasons but the weather would still seem like a good idea to keep including depending on the time of year... idk - maybe not so much the pokemon appearnces but you know what i mean? i mean its not ganna be snowing all the time but more often than normal and since we're doing the certain pokemon in certain weather conditions it would kinda balance out.)

Would it bew possible to have the weather the same as in that person's actual area. Let's say it was raining outside in part of Ohio. All people in Ohio where it is raining and are playing this game, it would be raining. Okay that made no sense. Do you understand though? Could we do that?
